“Tower Tour – Talking Stones”, a trip to the heart of the cultural and architectural heritage of northern Albania.
This itinerary includes the exploration of the historical assets of the Albanian towers, while combining authentic cultural, historical and agritourism experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to meet the residents of these towers, get to know the history and traditions, taste the traditional cuisine, and recognize the efforts to preserve this special heritage.
” Talking Stones” conveys the message of life and stories carved on their centuries-old walls, witnessing the culture and traditions that these towers have preserved among the years.
• Arrival in Perlat
• Welcome dinner featuring traditional dishes and an introduction to the heritage of the towers
• Visit to Burgajet and King Zog’s house
• Lunch and exploration of the Barçi Tower in Lis village
• Narration of tower stories by local residents
• Dinner at Çeliku Guesthouse
• Agritourism experience at Çeliku Guesthouse
• Visit to the Imer Kurti Tower, participate in artisanal activities, and enjoy traditional music
• Picnic at “Kulla e Moçme” with scenic views of the Mat River, followed by a visit to the Barut Tower
• Cultural performance and dinner at Hupi Tower
• Visit to Dibra Museum and the Kalosh Tower in Kandërr to learn about the region’s history
• Lunch at Konaku Guesthouse in Dibër
• Explore the stories and heritage of the Lura region
• Discussion on preserving cultural heritage in the village of Lurë
• Explore local attractions and enjoy lunch at Oxhaku i Doçit
• Dinner at Guesthouse Sabriu in Rabdisht
