The restaurant of Tomorr Ismailaj and his brothers lies on the side of the national road SH72 that leads to the north of Berat, Poshnjë village.
The architecture of the restaurant expresses the strength and durability of ancient Illyrian and Roman stone castles, planned to stand the test of time. Although in an industrial setting, just down the road, the Castle offers traditional food with large portions, good quality and low prices compared to the market. With a varied menu of freshly roasted meats and traditional breakfast and lunch items, it is very popular with locals and visitors alike. The restaurant holds up to 700 guests on three floors, in addition to the large wedding hall, which is often used for children’s birthday parties and live music.
In addition to the restaurant and hotel, the family owns a large farm, about 5 minutes away by car. The farm breeds 40 cows, 40 calves and about 80-100 pigs and piglets, including wild boars, caught in the nearby hills and kept in concrete stables with small compartments. There are also ducks, chickens, geese, sheep, goats and a donkey on the farm property. The animals, cared for by four workers, are kept to supply the restaurant with meat and milk. Just down the runway are two hectares of farm greenhouses, where, with the help of 15-20 workers, tomatoes are produced for export to Central and Northern Europe, including Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Russia.
