Farma Sotira

Information

If you are looking to get away from the bustling city life, Sotira Farm is the right place for you. This farm is located away from the urban chaos in the south-eastern district of Kolonjë near the border with Greece.
Walking around the property you see free-roaming animals that delight young visitors, excited to feed the ducks, chickens and geese, pet the cats and dogs and admire the cute piglets that follow their mother in search of food. Stables for horses and winter stalls for cows and sheep are located behind a grove of trees and across a small stream.

Four of the farm’s twenty horses can be used for horseback riding, traversing the network of muddy roads and narrow paths to find herds of cattle roaming the mountains.
The main tourist season runs from April to October, but the family lives on the farm and welcomes visitors all year round, even in snowy winters with temperatures reaching -20 °C.
Fortunately, 20 years in business has equipped them with regenerative skills, and Sotira Farm has been successful despite the setbacks, with a restaurant full of visitors enjoying the fresh, organic food. Traditional dishes include cabbage with nettles, sheep yogurt, oven-roasted chicken, duck or goose over rice and cured meats. There is camping space for up to 30 camping cars, which is popular with foreign tourists traveling with their own vehicles. Near the farm entrance, there are nine small wooden lodges with two rooms each, with single or double beds, complete with private bathrooms and handmade furniture.
